Best Korean green tea and green tea skin care at Osulloc Tea House
I am big on tea. I will never pass up a cup of good tea. Especially not when I encounter one with exotic flavor.
So imagine my excitement when I chanced upon Osulloc Tea House in Myeongdong when I was in Seoul recently. This place not only serve an assortment of uniquely-flavored tea, they also offer a selection of green tea desserts and even retail green tea skin care products.
What makes Osulloc even more interesting is it is a brand owned by AmorePacific–the South Korean conglomerate that houses beauty brands like Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Mamonde, Etude, and Innisfree. Did that get your attention? I bet.
Actually, Osulloc offers a range of green tea skin care products that look like they belong to the natural category. Products available include soaps, cleaners, toners, lotions, and masks. I couldn’t verify without an English ingredient list. But having gone through some of the information online, I believe this might be a green beauty brand.
Green tea for body and soul
Anyway, when I looked up the AmorePacific website, I learned that the company set up this green tea-themed cafe as a space for people to experience green tea and traditional food made with green tea. To AmorePacific, drinking tea is more than enjoyment but “an act of caring for body and soul.”
Besides Myeongdong, the Osulloc Tea House also has branches in Apgujeong, Insadong and Daehangno. If I’m not mistaken, the outlet at Isadong is larger than the Myeongdong one. However, I was too enthralled by the Hanok tea houses to take notice of Osulloc there.
And if you are planning to head to Jeju Island anytime soon, you might want to check out Osulloc Museum. It is reputed as Korea’s largest comprehensive tea culture exhibition hall where you can indulge in high quality green tea and discover Korean traditional tea culture.
Best green tea desserts
Coming back to Osulloc Tea House at Myeongdong, this is a modern cafe with a minimalist decor. But it’s different from the typical cafe because this one comes with a retail space for a wide selection of tea and a small range of green tea skin care products.
The desserts are mostly made from green tea and a must-try is their green tea ice cream. Never have I tasted a green tea ice cream that is so refreshing and exquisite, I had to order a second. The other dessert I tried was the green tea pound cake. It’s tasty but it’s not what I would call divine.
But Osulloc Tea House is definitely a haven for tea lovers. The tea selection is quite unusual. Popular tea choices include Samdayeon Jeju tangerine, apple honey milk tea, Freddo green tea, and Jeju tangerine milk tea.
While we were there, they were also promoting some exotic blended tea like Assam grapefruit black tea, Samdayeon Hallabong honey tea, and Assam apple cinnamon black tea. It’s a tea lover’s paradise.
Where to find Osulloc Tea House
I couldn’t resist getting a couple of Osulloc tea and their green tea masks. If you’re keen to get them, you can get them online via Qoo10 or ebay.
If you’re planning to head to Seoul anytime soon, you must visit Osulloc Tea House especially if you’re a green tea lover. Better still, visit Osulloc Museum if you’re in Jeju. I definitely have it on my to-go list when I get to visit Jeju.

Sesameeeee!!!! You are really making me want to go to Korea!!! Okok gotta start hunting for cheap fares ? how was the green tea mask? any good?
The mask was okay…for the price, I think it’s quite all right. Oh, I got a cheaper ticket this time around via SQ. We almost didn’t go as the ticket prices were crazy…like $1.8 on SQ and $1.3 on Korean Air. Then suddenly, just about 2 weeks or lesser before my son’s school hols, they offered $600 – $700 tickets on SQ. So it was a bit of a grab and go.
Ok shall get my friend to buy when she’s there end of the mth! Ahhh 2-to-go promo right? Lucky you!
Yes…I booked for my son and me. My husband had an open ticket so we were the two missing our tickets then.
