Get clean and pure plus a dose of luxe with Deep Steep
There’s nothing deep about creating a successful body and bath range. Just keep the ingredients clean, safe and natural. Then make sure the products look, feel and smell like superior luxury. Finally, price them not too steep so that daily indulgence is not something one needs to get calculative about. Sounds like a breeze eh? But have we got products like that? Why yes of course! This range from Deep Steep fit the bill perfectly because their all-natural bath and body care products are designed to give your body and spirit the royal treatment minus the royal price tag.
Two-year shelf life
Apparently, Deep Steep has been around since 2002 but I’ve never heard of them till recently. Like most natural products, the range is formulated without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, mineral oil, artificial fragrances, chemical preservatives, and their products are also gluten free, vegan and not tested on animals. According to the company, Deep Steep’s chemists have developed the technology to create a 100% proprietary natural preservative system that omits all synthetic ingredients. Using this system, all Deep Steep products pass standardized microbial challenge tests for killing bacteria and mold, honor all FDA standards, and are guaranteed a healthy two-year shelf life.
Deep Steep products come in an assortment of scents, with each formulated with certified organic essential oils. I went with the uplifting grapefruit-begamot scent and added three products with that scent to my iHerb cart recently.
Deep Steep Body Wash, Grapefruit Bergamot | 237 ml, US$6.11
As far as I can see, this product only list one surfactant, coco glucoside, on the ingredient list. Yet, it lathers and foams pretty decently. The scent is very uplifting and refreshing—definitely is a rather luxurious lather after a long day at work. I felt very clean after using this body wash but it’s not that squeakly clean feel. Neither did it leave my skin starving for moisture. My only gripe is that the consistency of this body wash is very thin and watery and hence, the tube runs out really fast. Even though it cost just US$6.11, I don’t find it very economical for daily usage.
Ingredients:
Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Infusion of Organic Herbs; Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Coco Glucoside, Aroma (Organic and Wildcrafted Aroma Blend), Glycerin (Vegan), Caprylic Acid (Coconut Fatty Acid), Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Natural, Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Organic Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid.
Deep Steep Body Lotion, Grapefruit Bergamot | 177 ml, US$6.11
This body lotion, said to be like a vitamin pill for the skin, is described as the perfect anytime moisturizer but I prefer to use this only at night due to the retinyl palmitate. But granted, this is indeed a light, everyday moisturizer that does not grease up or cause my skin to feel sticky to touch. Very nice when used after bath but the grapefruit bergamot scent may be too strong to be used at night right before bedtime. I’ll remember to pick something more soothing the next round.
Ingredients:
Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Infusion of Organic Herbs; Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Extract, Citrus Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate (Vegan), Glycerin (Vegan), Caprylic Acid (Coconut Fatty Acid), Aroma (Organic and Wildcrafted Aroma Blend), Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Natural, Organic Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate.
Deep Steep Hand Cream, Grapefruit Bergamot | 59 ml, US$6.88
The most expensive of the trio but this is my favorite. I love the handy size that fits well into all my bags. The sharp citrusy smell will instantly overwhelm an enclosed area. If you don’t like citrus smell, steer clear of this one and pick another scent! But the shea butter and olive oil make this hand cream feel thick and nourishing. Yet, it absorbs quickly upon application and does not leave hands feeling tacky or greasy. Just a little dose of luxe and indeed, the perfect elixir for thirsty skin on dry hands.

Overall summary
I’m pretty much enthralled by the range from Deep Steep with the clean ingredient list, the stimulating scents, the pretty packaging and the affordable prices. The best part? They don’t look cheap! In fact, they can match some of the conventional luxe but non-natural brands out there without burning a hole in your pocket. See, I can’t sing enough praises about them! So yes, I highly recommend the brand if you’re into nice smelling body and bath products but be warned that some scents like this grapefruit bergamot range can be quite sharp for sensitive nose. But I love them! As it is, I’ve already added the hand cream and body wash in my shopping cart, but this time, I am trying a different scent. I’ve also included their hand wash and am tempted to try their shampoo and body scrub too. Well, if any of you have tried their shampoo or any other products, do let me know how you like them k?
