Handmade spa shower gels from Lemongrass House

I bought the Lemongrass Shower Gel from Lemongrass House last year and had enjoy using it tremendously and so decided to get these as a birthday gift. I think they’re great for those who appreciate aromatherapy grade bath products. I had purchased the 260ml Rose Absolute Shower Gel for myself and because it’s got such a lovely scent, I got the smaller 120ml bottle and paired it up with a similar size Lavender Shower Gel for a friend.

Handmade in Phuket
For those who don’t know, products from Lemongrass House hails from Phuket in Thailand and each product is hand blended – you can even find the name of the person who hand blended your product on the bottle. Their handmade products are scented with essential oils and free from synthetics such as parabens and sulfates. Although they are called the Lemongrass House, they also carry a full range of skin and hair care products in other scents such as Chamomile, Lavender, Rose, Fig Tree, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, amongst others. Besides the usual range of products such as shower gels, massage oils, body creams body scrubs, after sun care, shampoos and face cream, they also have specialized products for mommies, kids and dogs.

The Rose Absolute Shower Gel has got a lovely scent but I think I still prefer the Lemongrass Shower Gel. Or maybe I’ll try the Lavender Shower Gel next time. But I realized that they’ve increased the price and each bottle is now close to S$20. Even the 120ml bottle cost almost S$10. Definitely a splurge item because this bottle of shower gel is not going to last me very long.

Availability
Since I last reviewed the Lemongrass House products, they’ve opened more outlets – @112 Katong, 313 @Somerset, @Liang Court, and @Raffles City. More information are available on their website.

I love aromatic scents because they keep me feeling relaxed. I want to try this out for what you have said its ingredients are said to be all natural. I usually prefer natural or organic products since I have sensitive skin. I will keep you posted as soon as I get one of my own.

But do note that even though it’s mostly natural ingredients, some essential oils can trigger sensitivity. So that’s something to be aware of.

Love their essential oils and their shower gels but have since moved on, mainly. I find the oils by Neal’s Yard or even Atlantic Naturals and quite a few other organic/natural to be much more superior. I was actually shocked to find out they took out the “azulene” from German Chamomile, so they could sell at a lower price. The azulene is helpful for eczema and other issues so without it, the oil is just only for its’ fragrance.

As for their shower gels, I love their fragrances but too bad their formulation is a bit out-dated. These days, there are more natural/organic shower gels featuring gentler surfactants like sarsocinate or sodium cocoyl isethionate.

I haven’t been using their stuff for a long time. I long their scent but other than that, I think their formulations are a-okay…but nothing to shout about as well.
