JASON Sunbrellas Mineral Sunblock

Jason Sunbrellas Mineral Based SPF #30 SunblockMany women, including myself, are concerned with using natural or organic sunblock thinking that it may not provide adequate coverage. Looks like we need to correct this thought.

I recently bought JASON Natural Sunbrellas Mineral Based Physical Sunblock SPF30+and am really pleased to find out that this product contains no sun hazard and is rated a very low health hazard of 3 according to the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep Report.

In simple terms, it means I get sufficient coverage using this sunblock and it’s absolutely safe for my skin.  YAY!

This hypo-allergenic sun block has no mineral oil, petrolatum or waxes and is fragrance, alcohol plus paraben free.  Thus, it is said to be safe for use on babies and sensitive adults. Using organic and natural ingredients such as chamomile and marigold extracts, this sunblock also includes 8% Titanium Dioxide and 2.5% Zinc Oxide and both are effective sunscreen ingredients according to the following rating compiled by Environmental Protection Agency.

Because this is a physical sunblock, it works by blocking and scattering sunlight similar to a mirror or tin foil.   The problem however is that it does leave a white cast, and it’s best to be less liberal when applying this sunblock, rubbing it into your skin thoroughly to make sure it’s well blended.

Otherwise, I am quite happy using JASON Natural Sunbrellas Mineral Based Physical Sunblock SPF30+ as long as I remember not to overapply.  In fact, it reminds me of Skinceuticals Ultimate UV Defense which I was using before.  I feel adequately defended against the sun plus it isn’t greasy and works well with my makeup as well.

I got JASON Natural Sunbrellas Mineral Based Physical Sunblock SPF30+  from my favourite organic products supplier at Dargon Dors Cosmetics #03-1126, 32 New Market Road (People’s Park Complex).  It cost S$29.50 before any discounts but you can buy it for lesser from Shopzilla.com.

does it leave a white cast?

heehaw: Yes, it does. But as long as you do not overapply, it looks fine and in fact works as a great makeup primer.
