JASON Hydrating Lotion Cleanser
Why organic products has to smell so awful I really don’t understand. While I enjoy using JASON range of pure, natural and organic products, this new one that I’m currently trying, JASON Red Elements Hydrating Lotion Cleanser, is a big turn off in terms of the smell.
This product is fragrance free. So whatever smell I’ve experienced is from the natural ingredients. I have no idea if the red tea and peptides which is supposed to help fight the signs of aging created that pungence but it’s truly not great if you’ve a sensitive olfaction like me. I really wish it smells better or comes with no scent at all.
Smell aside, JASON Red Elements Hydrating Lotion Cleanser does what it says. To cleanse away makeup, dirt and impurities from the face. If I follow the instructions, I can complete the cleansing in one single step. Just wet my face, apply the lotion, cleanse away and rinse. However, because I’ve always double cleansed my face no matter what I use, so I still wash my face with a foaming cleanser afterwards. And since the smell of this lotion cleanser is rather intolerable, you’ll imagine that I’ll like to wash it away thoroughly.
In addition to being hypo-allergenic and paraben free, JASON Red Elements Hydrating Lotion Cleanser also contains copper, zinc, and manganese to refine and even the complexion while softening and replenishing skin. In fact, the reason why I bought this cleanser is because the lady who recommended me this product is using this herself and has said good things about it. The evidence? She’s past 55 and her skin condition is fantastic!
As such, I’ll bear with the smell and continue using it. If it proves to be beneficial, I may even consider re-purchasing it. The 214ml cleanser is available at S$39.50 before discount at Dargon Dors Cosmetics #03-1126, 32 New Market Road (People’s Park Complex) but you can get it cheaper online through Shopzilla for only US$8.40.

I’m not too fond of lotio cleansers but I like organic and have used JASON shampoos and conditioners in the past… willing to try this one, thanks for your review!
etirv: Hope you can bear with the smell.
I hate it when fragrance-free products stink – literally! I think I’ll skip this one as it sounds migraine inducing.
amybecca: If you’re truly very very particular about smell, I’ll say give this a pass.
Dang! I love Jason products in general, so it’s a shame to hear that the smell of this one isn’t so good. I guess I’ll be sticking to my Orange Essence cleanser for now. Thanks for the very full review.
Lorin: Well, it’s not exactly pleasant for sure…
Too bad about the after smell. What we endure for flawless skin!
Lisa T: Hahaha…yes, the things we’ll endure for vanity!
Thanks for posting. Since it is fragrance-free, this will be great for people with product allergies, eczema, psoriasis, etc.
Melissa: It’s suitable for those with sensitive skin I was told.
